MEM on the Move: Concourse A demolition underway to make room for TMSP construction projects

Demolition of Concourse A has begun. The space will be cleared to prepare several key future construction sites as part of the Terminal Modernization and Seismic Project (TMSP).

The airport will first use the Concourse A area for storing construction materials needed for the modernized terminal project.

In addition, this area will be the site of a new checked baggage inspection system (CBIS) and new MSCAA administration building. The demolition is expected to be completed in late 2025/early 2026.

Concourse A was originally built in 1974. It has not been used since MEM combined all airline, retail and restaurant operations into the modernized Concourse B in 2022.
